How much does event catering cost in Cornwall?

Accepted Answer

Cold finger buffets start from £7 per head. Fork buffets from £12 per head. Hot buffets from £15 to £27 per head for the Grand Banquet package. Charcoal BBQ catering starts from £8 per head delivered, or £9 per head cooked on-site, up to £39 per head delivered or £40 per head on-site for the Ultimate Cornish Land & Sea Feast. Hog roast packages from £9 per head delivered, or £10 per head on-site (minimum 50 guests on-site, minimum 20 delivered). Giant pan catering from £11 per head for the Essential menu up to £16 for the Signature menu (minimum 50 guests). Buffets require a minimum of 20 guests and are delivered ready to serve. Corporate catering has no minimum. BBQ, hog roast and giant pan catering includes on-site cooking and service.

Do you cater for last-minute events?

Yes. Same-week bookings, 7 days a week. Call 01209 206255 and we'll do our best to accommodate. We regularly confirm bookings with 24 hours' notice.

Do you cover Devon as well as Cornwall?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Redruth, Cornwall, and cover the whole county as standard. We also cater across Devon including Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay, Barnstaple and surrounding areas. A small travel supplement may apply for Devon events.

Do you cater film and TV productions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Salt Wind Catering provides full-service location catering for film and TV productions across Cornwall, Devon and the South West. Hot breakfasts, multi-course lunches and dinners, all-day craft services, and afternoon Cornish cream teas. We work to production schedules — early calls, night shoots, last-minute changes — and cover all dietary requirements. Quote-based.

5-star food hygiene rating from Cornwall Council, NCASS registered, Federation of Small Businesses member, £10 million public liability insurance.

Do you need a kitchen or power at the venue?

Accepted Answer

No. We're fully self-contained — gas, charcoal, all equipment, serving supplies and waste management. No venue kitchen, power or water needed. Beaches, fields, farms, marquees, clifftops — anywhere.

What events do you cover?

Weddings, birthday parties, corporate lunches, funerals, christenings, engagement parties, anniversaries, festivals, film and TV productions, charity events, school events, Christmas parties and private dinners. From 20 guests to 500.

How far in advance should I book?

Weddings and large events: 2–3 months. Smaller events and corporate catering: 1–2 weeks. Same-week bookings welcome when availability allows.

Salt Wind Catering covers all of Cornwall and Devon. Based in Redruth, Cornwall, the delivery and on-site catering service reaches every town in the county — from Penzance and St Ives on the west coast to Plymouth and Exeter in Devon. Whether your event is on a clifftop, a beach, a farm, or a city-centre venue, the fully self-contained setup means no venue kitchen or power supply is needed.

How do I secure a date with Salt Wind Catering?

Accepted Answer

Salt Wind Catering requires a 30% deposit to secure your event date. Once your deposit is received, your date is confirmed and reserved exclusively for you. Can Salt Wind Catering cater for vegans, coeliacs, and allergies?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Salt Wind Catering accommodates vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and a range of other dietary requirements when notified at the time of booking. As an event caterer (loose food, FIR 2014), full allergen information for every menu item is available on request — please share any dietary needs or allergy concerns with us when enquiring and we will confirm what we can safely prepare for your event.
